The Importance of School Boards

Every public school is overseen by a school board, which serves as the governing body for the school district it represents. School boards consist of elected individuals, many of them parents, and they make critical decisions relating to curriculums used, academic and safety standards, teachers and staff, and budgetary spending and allocation.
In recent years, the importance of who is sitting on our school boards has become an issue of understandable concern. School board officials have begun using their positions to promote political and Marxist agendas such as Critical Race Theory (CRT) , Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Programs (DEI), and social justice doctrines under the guise of “Social-Emotional Learning” (SEL).
If we hope to save our public schools from becoming indoctrination centers instead of true places of academic learning, we MUST get involved. Parents need to demand transparency, hold teachers and school boards accountable for the decisions they make, and support school board candidates who will ensure that public schools remain committed to children’s academic excellence, not centers designed to create political activists.
